Jackson

Jackson is perhaps best known for Six Flags Great Adventure and its companion parks, Hurricane Harbor and Safari Off Road Adventure. Great Adventure is well-known for its Fright Fest, which operates during the Halloween season. The park also features world record setting rides for parkgoers who enjoy extreme rides. Kingda Ka is notable for being the tallest steel roller coaster, having the longest steel roller coaster drop, and the world's second fastest roller coaster. It also has the world's tallest drop tower, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, attached to it. Another notable ride at Great Adventure is El Toro. El Toro is the world's fourth fastest wooden roller coaster, third tallest wooden roller coaster, and has the second longest wooden roller coaster drop.

Jackson Township is also home to the Jackson Premium Outlets, which is an outdoor mall that has 70 stores. However, there's more to Jackson than an amusement park and shopping.

The town's convenient location in the middle of New Jersey makes it popular with commuters. Jackson's less than 60 miles away from Philadelphia, which can be seen from the top of Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom on a clear day. It is also approximately 70 miles away from New York City, which means Jackson residents can travel to either city in less than two hours.

For families with children, the Jackson School District consists of 10 schools. The township has six elementary schools, which serve students in grades K-5. It also has two middle schools, which serve grades 6-8, and two high schools for grades 9 to 12. Jackson Memorial High School and Jackson Liberty High School have strong music programs. Liberty's marching band has won several state awards, while Memorial has won several state and national awards for its marching band.

Jackson's centralized location means that there's always something to do. Whether it's going into the city or shopping at the nearby malls in Freehold or Eatontown.
